Bangladesh beat Netherlands by 25 runs on Friday (14th June) at Kingstown, ST Vincent. Earlier, Bangladesh posted 159 on the board. Bangladesh's veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's brilliant fifty, along with some late blitz from Jaker Ali Anik and Mahmudullah Riyad helped Bangladesh reach to this total. In reply, miserly spell from Mustafizur Rahman and a match turning spell from Rishad Hossain snatched the game away from the Dutch.

Being asked to bat first, Bangladesh started horribly losing two quick wickets earlier on to Aryan Dutt. Bangladesh captain Shanto and Wk-batter Litton both fell after scoring 1. Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Shakib Al Hasan joined hands together to steer the ship.

The duo combined a brillaint 48 run stand off 32 balls, where Shakib was smashing everything that came towards him and helped Bangladesh score 54. Tamim fell to Ven Meekeren on 35 off 26 balls, while Shakib was playing sensibly to anchor the innings.

Mahmudullah came to the crease with lot of intents and six and four to Pringle to start his innings. But he fell immediately after scoring a brisk 25 off 21 balls. Shakib on the contrast, brought up a fifty off 38 deliveries. Jaker Ali came in and hit three boundaries in the 19th over to keep up the momentum for Bangladesh. Shakib then smashed two boundaries of the last over to get to 159 on the board. Shakib top scored with an unbeaten 64* off just 46 deliveries.

Aryan Dutt, Paul Van Meekeren shared two wickets each, while Tim Pringle picked up one wicket to his name.

In reply, Netherlands started well with scoring at a brisk rate but Taskin Ahmed drew the first blood removing Michael Levitt. Tanzim Sakib then joined him by getting Max ODowd.
Vikramjit Singh then started to tee off the Bangladeshi bowlers and he scored a breezy 26 off only 16 deliveries to keep up the momentum before Mahmudullah Riyad got him out.

Captain Scott Edwards and Sybrand Engelbrecht then had a tremendous partnership and was cruising to the target before Rishad Hossain removed the latter one to bring Bangladesh back into the game. Afterwards, the match was always with Bangladesh and they eventually got the victory to advance their tickets for the Super-Eight.
