West Indies thrashed India by 6 wickets in the second ODI on Sunday (30th July) at Kensington Oval, Barbados. Motie and Romario Shepard bowled exceptionally well and then Shai Hope and Kecay Carty's sensible batting took Windies home to square the series by 1-1.
Earlier the day, Windies won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Indian openers had a fine partnership as they added 90 in the opening stand where Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant 55 off 55. But after the departure of the openers, WI bowlers made a serious comeback and took no time to pick up the remaining wickets. They didn't let allow the Indian batters to get settled in and hence they couldn't score big. Sanju Samson made 9 while Axae scored only 1. Skipper Hardik Pandya made 7 off 14 before falling to Jayden Seals. Suryakumar Yadav tried to get going as he made 24 off 25 but was unable to score big. India were bundled for a paltry 181 inside 40.5 overs. Motie and Romario Shepard were the pick of the bowlers as they picked up 3 wickets apiece.
Chasing 182, WI openers got a decent start as they raced to 53 off just 8.2 overs before Kyle Mayers went back to the pavilion. Skipper Shai Hope and Kecay Carty then took the charge and they both made a serious 91 run stand where Shai Hope scored a sensible 63 and Kecay Carty made 48 and took WI home by 6 wickets.
