Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan praised his team's remarkable performance after they cruised to a 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI at Queens Sports Club on Tuesday. Pakistan bounced back from an 80-run defeat via the DLS method in the rain-affected first ODI to level the three-match series 1-1.

Saim Ayub was the star of the show, scoring an unbeaten 113 off 62 balls as Pakistan chased down Zimbabwe’s modest total of 146 in just 18.2 overs. Ayub's century was the third-fastest by a Pakistani batter in ODIs, and it played a key role in the dominant win.

Rizwan’s Reflections on the Victory

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rizwan emphasized the importance of focusing on future performances rather than dwelling on past results.

"The past is behind us. Even this moment as I speak is already part of the past. Our aim is to stay focused on what lies ahead," Rizwan stated, highlighting the team’s forward-thinking approach.

Rizwan also commended his bowlers, including Abrar Ahmed and Faisal, for their consistent efforts in restricting Zimbabwe to a low total.

"He (abar) is a very talented and exceptional player. Unfortunately, he was injured in the last couple of years, but what he did today is just 70% of his talent. We expect him to perform 100% in the future," Rizwan said.

Ayub’s Match-Winning Knock

Saim Ayub, who was named Player of the Match for his outstanding unbeaten century, expressed his thoughts on the match, explaining the challenges of batting on a tricky wicket.

"We already forgot the first game, and we will forget this game as well. We will focus on the present and think about one day at a time," Ayub said.

"The wicket in the first game was stoppy, and the weather also changed. Today, it was slower and stoppy. I had to be careful as I couldn't play all the shots. We practice for all types of wickets, not just for slow ones," he added
