In the ongoing 2023 Cricket World Cup, the Pakistan team is on the verge of elimination and has only slim hopes of qualifying. However, there is one thing that the team can boast of and that is Pakistan's catching efficiency in the tournament.
Pakistan leads the way in catching efficiency at the 2023 World Cup and boasts an impressive success rate of 86 percent, converting 31 out of 37 chances safely. Their field strength makes them the most reliable catching team in the tournament. The team only allowed six catches throughout the event, making them standout performers in this regard.
With a success rate of 85% and 33 catches, Pakistan are slightly ahead of the Netherlands to secure second place.
India and England have the same success rate of 81% and have lost the same number of catches each, 6. However,
India have taken 25 catches while England are slightly ahead with 26 catches. This means that England and India are currently tied for third place.
It is to be noted that Pakistan played their fourth World Cup match against Australia in which Usama Mir dropped a crucial catch from David Warner.
In comparison, the Netherlands and India have the same number of lost catches at six each, with the former having 33 chances and the latter having 25.
India, England and South Africa are tied with a catch efficiency of 81 percent, closely followed by Bangladesh at 76 percent. At the other end of the spectrum, Australia, Afghanistan and New Zealand are at the bottom of the table with a catch efficiency of 71 percent.
