South Africa will not host any Test matches in the 2025–26 season. This is because Cricket South Africa (CSA) is now focusing on fixing up stadiums for the ICC ODI World Cup in 2027.  Test cricket will return to South Africa in the 2026–27 season, though, with matches between England, Australia, and Bangladesh.

The Proteas will host three Tests each from England and Australia as part of the CSA's new Future Tours Program (FTP). Bangladesh will also play a two-match Test series in South Africa.

The CSA has said that the 2025–26 season will be spent improving stadiums in preparation for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Bangladesh.

South Africa will play a lot of home Tests in 2026–27, after taking a break for one season.  England lost three tests, Australia lost three tests, and Bangladesh lost two tests.

The women's team from South Africa will also have an exciting red-ball season, playing 10 Test matches against India and Australia.

As of now, Bangladesh have not won a Test match against the Proteas. They have been to South Africa four times for the Test series, in 2002, 2008, 2017, and 2021.  In 2015, when they played South Africa at home, they did their best by drawing both Tests.
