The New Zealand cricket team arrived at Hyderabad Airport on Wednesday evening ahead of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19.

The New Zealand cricket team is coming to Hyderabad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign. The Blackcaps finished second in their last two World Cup seasons in 2015 and 2019, narrowly missing out on the trophy.

This time New Zealand appear to be in good shape and are one of the favorites to win the World Cup this year. New Zealand will face England in the opening game of the World Cup on October 5 as they look to avenge their loss to England in the 2019 World Cup final.

The Pakistan cricket team also landed in India on Wednesday for a bilateral series since their last visit in the 2012-13 season. 

Before the World Cup begins, New Zealand will play two training games against Pakistan and South Africa respectively. They will face Pakistan in the first warm-up game on September 29th and South Africa in the second warm-up game on October 2nd. After these warm-up games, New Zealand will start their World Cup campaign against England on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

A total of 10 teams are fighting for the coveted World Cup trophy in the 13th edition of the major event. India qualified as hosts while New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa progressed from the Super League.

The biggest men's event on the cricket calendar will feature 48 matches across 10 venues, starting on October 5 with defending champions England against previous edition runners-up New Zealand.
