Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel made a bold declaration, claiming that Glenn Maxwell is the most overrated player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He made this remark after Maxwell’s performance against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday (May 4).

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Maxwell has been in real poor form in the ongoing IPL. Midway through the competition, he decided to take a vacation for his mental health and pulled out of the squad.

However, he again returned with the match against GT where he took the wicket of Shubman Gill and didn’t have to bat because RCB won the match easily. Then, in the second leg match against GT yesterday, Maxwell got the chance to bat but failed again. He scored just 4 runs from 3 balls. However, RCB won the match in the end by 4 wickets.

“glenn maxwell….HE IS THE MOST OVERRATED player in the history of ipl,” Parthiv Patel wrote on X after another disappointing performance from Maxwell.

Unless Maxwell is able to take things in a different direction in the remaining matches, this is likely going to be Maxwell's worst season in the Indian Premier League. To this far in the season, the Australian all-rounder has only managed to score 36 runs in eight matches, with an average of 5.14 and a strike rate of 97.29.
