Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first in the second match of the Asia Cup in Pallekele on Thursday (August 31). This is the first match of these two teams.

Both the teams have been hit with injury problems before the Asia Cup as some of their regular players miss out on the tournament. The notable name for Bangladesh is Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das, Ebadot Hossain, and for Sri Lanka- Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Kumara, Dilshan Madushanka.

Bangladesh have handed a debut to young Tanzid Hasan Tamim to replace Litton Das at the top. Also, spin all-rounder Mahedi Hasan has also got the chance in the team. He’ll play an ODI match for Bangladesh after almost two and a half years. There are also two spinners in Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam are the three pacers. Hasan Ahmed misses out the match.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka have replaced Wanindu Hasaranga with Dunith Wellalage in the team. And as the main pacers are injured, Kasun Rajitha and Matheesha Pathirana have got a chance in the team as pacers.
