Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first in the first of a two-match Test series against New Zealand in Sylhet on November (28).

Both sides have opted for a spin-dominated XI as per the pitch conditions. Bangladesh select 3 spinners and only 1 pacer in their XI while New Zealand opt for 2 spinners and 2 spinners.

Regular captain Shakib Al Hasan isn’t playing for Bangladesh because of the injury, so Najmul Hossain Shanto is leading the team. Litton Das has also taken a break, so Nurul Hasan Sohan has slotted into the playing XI. Bangladesh have handed a debut to batter Shahadat Hossain Dipu, who is the 102^nd Test player for Bangladesh.

On the other hand, New Zealand choose Glenn Phillips over Rachin Ravindra and Kyle Jamieson over Neil Wagner.
