Windies comeback strongly in the five-match ODI series with a tie over India with a nail-biting finish in the second ODI in Vishakapatnam.

Windies tour of India has now gained the attention of the people around the game as the tournament is opened up a bit following the second ODI in Vishakapatnam. After an easy chase in Guwahati India came into the game in a much stronger position while the opponents came in a situation to heat out their best. Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first on a surface which had little assistance to spinners. The start was not an expected one for India as Rohit Sharma was dismissed only on 4. Following his partner, Shikhar Dhawan also returned back within the first ten overs. Back to back wickets of the openers added pressure on the Indians. But Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu slowly built the innings for the hosts. They had a century stance for the third wicket before the wicket of Rayudu on 73. Rayudu showed some positive signs regarding the no.4 spot but it's too early to judge on that matter. In a meantime, Kohli crossed 10000 landmark in ODI cricket and went on to become the fastest batsman to do so. The skipper didn't stop at that point and he went on to register his 37th ODI century with another blistering knock of 157 runs. Apart from these two batsmen, remaining players didn't do anything big and resulted in a total of 321 for the loss of six wickets in their innings. The debutant Obed Mccoy and Ashley Nurse bagged two wickets each. Windies were put in a situation like what India did in Guwahati. But they also failed to get a good start. Windies lost three wickets before reaching 100 runs and put the chase in a dangerous position. Shai Hope and the centurion in Guwahati, Shimron Hetmyer anchored the Windies chase with their usual aggressive style. Hetmyer went on to score 94 before trapped by Yuzvendra Chahal. On the other end, Shai Hope remained unbeaten throughout the innings and scored a match-saving ton. Indian bowlers controlled the flow of runs in death overs even though they went for plenty in middle overs. In the last two overs, Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav were asked to contain 20 runs. Shami did his job perfectly in the 49th over giving only 6 runs. But Umesh went for 13 in the last over and resulted in a tie. Hope remained unbeaten on 123 while Kuldeep Yadav led the attack with three wickets. Virat Kohli was named as the man of the match. Still, India are leasing the series 1-0.
