This influential director of the board asserted that there is no turmoil in the board regarding Tamim's resignation and appointing a new captain. Nonetheless, he described Tamim's withdrawal from the leadership as a "blow."

Mallick said, “No, there is no instability. Tamim will not be the captain, it was said by the honorable board president. It is a shock for us. But they are working on it very closely with the team management. There are cricket operations. The Hon'ble Board President himself is looking into it. Nothing to get too upset about. But naturally, his departure like this is a shock for us.”

The Asia Cup will start at the end of this month. BCB is likely to announce the team a couple of weeks before. It may be finalized before that, who is the captain of Bangladesh in the Asia Cup and World Cup.
