Ireland Wolves, the A team, will face Bangladesh A for one four-day, five one-dayers and two T20 matches in February-March. The Irish squad is expected to land in Bangladesh on February 17. Ireland men's senior team recently played UAE (drew 1-1) and Afghanistan (lost 0-3) in Abu Dhabi. With more international fixtures coming up this year, the Bangladesh tour will play a big part in their preparations. "The Wolves tour is so important. We have a 15-man squad but probably we have 25 players who ideally need to go on a tour like that," Ford said as quoted by Belfast Telegraph. "We need that cricket for these younger, more emerging players, the players who are going to hold the fort for a good few years to come. "We want them to experience sub-continental conditions and every single one of them is desperate for more cricket. It will be a huge learning opportunity for those lads and help them set themselves up for (the senior tour of) Zimbabwe, so touch wood that all that will happen." Irish squad is expected to be announced soon after it was delayed due to quarantine complications. Ireland Wolves last toured Bangladesh in 2017. The home side won the one-off four-dayer and five-match unofficial ODI series by 3-0. Bangladesh A made a tour to Ireland the next year where they won three-T20 series by 2-1 after levelling the five-match one-dayers 2-2.
