The 21-year-old boy Mayank Yadav has become the talk of the town after spitting bullets in the recent match between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings. Nicholas Pooran-led Lucknow Super Giants have registered their first win in this edition of the Indian Premier League.
Batting first, the Lucknow-based franchise posted a quite defendable total of 199 runs on the board. Quinton de Kock made his comeback by smashing 54 runs whereas Nicholas Pooran smashed 42 runs at a strike-rate of 200 for his side.
Krunal Pandya has been out of the syllabus for Punjab Kings as the left-handed batter went on to score 43 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes for his team. With a huge target on the board, Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow gave a flying start to the innings as they slammed 61 runs in the powerplay overs.
They put up a 102-run stand before the 21-year-old dismissed the experienced English cricketer for 42 runs. After that, he continued to pick the wickets of Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma in his back-to-back overs and ended his spell with the number, 3 for 27.
In the end, Punjab Kings lost the match by a margin of 21 runs which is their third defeat in the ongoing season. Hence, both sides will look to come back even stronger as they have a lot to do in the rest of the tournament.
