India sealed their spot in the World Test Championship Final after an innings victory over England in the fourth Test of the Test series. Ashwin and Axar in 2nd Test

The fascinating Test series between India and England has come to an end with India clinching the series 3-1. After losing the first Test in Chennai, the hosts managed to stage yet another comeback to seal the Test series, and with the series win India booked their place to face New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. After electing to bat first on day one morning, England managed to score only 205 in their first innings. In reply, India had good first innings and India were 294/7 at the end of play on day two, with the help of Rishabh Pant's ton. The overnight batsmen Washington Sundar and Axar Patel started the day and put India in the driver seat. The duo added 106 runs for the eighth wicket before the runout of Axar Patel on 43. On the other hand, Washington Sundar played another match-turning innings for India. Unfortunately, he missed a deserved ton as he was running out of partners and remained not out on 96. India finished their first innings on 365. With this, India took a healthy lead of 160 runs ahead of the second innings. England batsmen started the second innings with a big deficit in front of them and they were unable to take off and surrendered to the Indian spinners Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin. England batsmen were found the victims of the Indian spin attack and they were bowled out for 135. With this India won the match by an innings and 25 runs. Only Daniel Lawrence showed a fightback and scored 50 runs. For India, both Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped five wickets each.
