Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 21 runs (DLS) in a run fest at Chinnaswamy on Saturday (4th November). Fakhar Zaman's one the best world cup knocks of 126* off just 81 deliveries which buried the dreams of Kiwis.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand started to take on the Kiwis from the very start and stitched a fine 68 runs stand before Conway fell to Hasan Ali. Rachin Ravindra and Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson then steered the ship for New Zealand. The duo added 180 runs on the second wicket. Throughout the passage of play Kane Williamson notched up his fifty and then Rachin Ravindra scored his third ton of the world cup. New Zealand were going strongly and Mark Chapman came to the party.

Chapman smacked things everywhere of the park and raced to 39 off 27 balls, whereas Glenn Phillips scored a quick-fire 41 off just 25 deliveries and New Zealand posted a mammoth 401 on the board.

In reply, Pakistan lost their gun opener Abdullah Shafique earlier their innings. But Fakhar Zaman was there to rescue them out of the trouble. He was smacking everything that came towards him.
