The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Amazon Prime Video have signed a contract that will offer Prime Video Australia exclusive live broadcast rights for ICC cricket matches in Australia for a period of four years.
This collaboration guarantees that all major men's and women's competitions will be streamed exclusively. These competitions include the Cricket World Cups, the Twenty20 World Cups, the Champions Trophy, the Under-19s, and the highly regarded World Test Championship Final. Directly on Prime Video Australia, cricket fans can now watch all of the exciting action that is happening in the sport.
From 2024 to 2027, this arrangement will include the streaming rights for a total of 448 live matches that will take place in Australia. Following the conclusion of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which was a spectacle that broke all previous records and culminated in Australia's triumphant lifting of the trophy, it finally comes.
This particular World Cup broke all previous records for the number of people who attended stadiums and watched broadcasts, making it the most digitally engaged event that has ever taken place. Without a question, the excitement and commotion surrounding the World Cup of Cricket have reached heights that have never been seen before.
“The Cricket World Cup is one of the most viewed sporting events in the world; the recently concluded edition was watched by hundreds of millions of people! Over the next four years, Prime members in Australia will be able to watch their favourite cricket teams and players compete for the game’s biggest prize, on demand, on the device of their choice—exclusively on Prime Video,” Hushidar Kharas, Head of Prime Video Australia and New Zealand said as quoted by ICC.
