Tamim Iqbal is the captain of the Bangladesh national team, but he is not the only one who is in form. Tamim's run drought is a little bit worrying. Ahead of the Asia Cup and the World Cup, the talk about the lack of form of the country's best opener is not reducing.

However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon requested not to criticize Tamim's form so as not to create pressure on him. Earlier there was a lot of talk about Mushfiqur Rahim's good form, but Mushfiqur is in great form now. So Papon calls for patience with Tamim.

He said, “Tamim is our best opener. Don't make him nervous anymore. There was much talk about Mushfiqur, has he not returned?”

However, the BCB president has expressed some concern about the opening and No. 7 position before the World Cup. He also gives the indication of creating backups in these two positions.

He added, “We’re watching those whom we want to see. It is important for which position you are taking the replacement. Either in the opening or at number 7. We did not see anyone new in the opening. Naim Sheikh is doing well, there is Zakir also, there are many others.”

Before the World Cup, Naim Sheikh and Zakir Hasan were considered, but Rony Talukdar, who got a chance in the ODI team, is not in the thoughts of the World Cup team. Bangladesh want to use him in the T20 format for now.
