Ambati Rayudu, a former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter, has dispelled rumours of a potential rift between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja during the 2022 season.

Jadeja was appointed captain of CSK in 2022, but Dhoni took over after a string of defeats. There were rumours that Jadeja was unhappy with the situation, but Rayudu has a different opinion. 

"I don't think Jaddu (Jadeja) was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was sad because the team wasn't doing great. Everyone's performances that year were not coming up to the mark," Rayudu said on BehindWoodsTV Youtube channel.

“He (Dhoni) has put this team and has made Jaddu (Jadeja) what he is today. He has nurtured him for what, 10-12 years. So he would naturally be happy that the product that he made has won the final for CSK after whatever happened last year,” he added.

Jadeja claimed the 2023 IPL trophy for CSK in dramatic fashion by hitting two boundaries off the final two deliveries. It was the fifth IP trophy for Chennai Super Kings, tying them with Mumbai Indians for the most IPL titles.
