Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the squads for the upcoming limited-overs home series against Australia. Dewald Brevis has been selected for the first time in the series.

Fans have long wanted to see the Braves in a Proteas jersey. He came into the limelight for his batting style, especially during the U19 World Cup. After that, he played in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL) etc.

But finally, the wait is over. South Africa will play a three-match T20I and five-match ODI series against Australia at home. And the 20-year-old Brevis got a call to the team in that series.

Donovan Ferreira and Matthew Breetzke are two more batters called up in the T20 team who have never played for South Africa before. Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has played Tests and ODIs for South Africa, but he has never played in a T20I.

Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Anrich Nortje, and Kagiso Rabada will not play in the T20I series, but they will be back for the ODIs. CSA has also said that the 15-person team for the ODI World Cup will be chosen on September 5.
