Delhi Capitals thrashed Gujrat Titans by 6 wickets on Wednesday (17th April) at the Ahmedabad. Delhi bowled stifled Gujrat batters at bay to bundle them out for a measly 89 runs. In reply, Delhi took just 9 overs to chase down the total.
GT were bowled out for just 89 runs, lowest of this season of IPL.
Earlier, opting to field first, Delhi were right on the top from the very start. It was Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma who ran riot with the new ball to leave Gujrat Titans stutter at 30-4 inside the powerplay. Their powerplay trauma didn’t let them comeback stronger in the next phase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Rashid Khan showed some courage at the backend of the innings and tried to salvage the situations, he made 31 off 24 runs, 1/third of Gujrat Titans' total score to help Titans post 89 on the board. Mukesh Kumar had 3 wickets to his name, while Tristan Stubbs and Ishant had two wickets apiece.
In reply, Jake Fraser-McGurk yet again gave them a terrifying start and raced to 20 off only 10 balls, all the runs came from boundaries, two sixes and two fours. However, Abishek Porel, Shai Hope contributed with runs to hand Delhi a thumping win over Gujrat and chased the total in 8.5 overs to boost the NRR.
