Once upon a time spin was the strength of Bangladesh's bowling. That spin remains in place, with the pace unit far ahead of them. The progress of the pacers is so noticeable that the fast bowlers of Bangladesh are dreaming of becoming the world's best pace bowling unit in the future.

Taskin Ahmed is now the country's best pacer and leader of pacers - there are few people who can deny that. It is Taskin's belief that the Tigers may have the best pace bowling lineup in the world in the near future at the pace Bangladesh are moving.

However, despite the performance of Bangladesh's pace bowling unit, Taskin sees more room for improvement, “Everybody is working hard in every department. By God's grace, the pace bowling unit has improved. This unit has been working together for 2-3 years. It is now in a better position than before. I think there is room for improvement.

"We all want this pace bowling unit to be the best in the world. It has that capability. There are lot of hard work behind this. It didn't happen overnight.”

Taskin believes no one will ever question the pacers’ dedication after so much work. The pacer is looking at the tough challenge from the pacers ahead of the ODI World Cup to be held in India.

He added, “I want this discussion not to happen. So that everyone is well and fit. A lot of challenging games are coming up. The conditions will not be so easy, there will be sporting wickets. We have to be prepared for it. Before every match, we have to prepare. We will play in the subcontinent. India's wicket is slightly better for batting. If you do well there, your confidence will increase. It is better to move forward with less fear of loss. Any bowler can have a bad day or two. If we give our best, it is possible to do well even in that condition."
