Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu, on Wednesday, talked about the Caribbean success story of
, said he is contented watching
and Litton Kumar Das batting fluently in the series.

“We were always in the back foot in T20Is and everyone here has been constantly trying to find out effective ways to turn around in this format since the series defeat against
. There were a number of plans to be worked out. And when we lost the first T20I of the series after winning the ODI series, those contentions came to light once again. We, then, started thinking about gaining competency in T20 cricket,” chief selector said.
Appreciating
’s performance to lead from the front, Minhajul Abedin further said, “Once a captain cannot do well in one format, the automated thinking is to do better in another. Perhaps these things figured out for Shakib; how to inspire the team and guide to better performance. This sort of driving force was absent in him before.”
“Shakib is always a front line performer of Bangladesh team; he led from the front in the Caribbean tour. I must say he did a fantastic job. World T20 is coming, I think we have found the road to success,” the chief selector said.
Minhajul Abedin also heaped praise on Litton Kumar Das; the young wicket keeper batsman lauded a 32 ball 61 in the virtual final of the series in Florida. He was rewarded man of the match.
He thus said, “I fully rely upon Litton’s ability; I think one day he would find a proper way. He bats nicely through square leg and in straight bat. Litton possesses all the skills of what we say a complete batsman. Whether in longer format or shorter, Litton owns the capability of batting well.”
