West Indies started the second day with 266 runs for 8 wickets. Kemar Roach and Kevin Sinclair made a partnership of 31 runs for the ninth wicket. The duo broke when Roach was run out. West Indies were all out when Sinclair got out after scoring a half-century. Sinclair scored 50 off 98 balls.

Roach struck again with two consecutive balls in the fifth over. Cameron Green and Travis Head returned to the dressing room after being victimized by this experienced Caribbean pacer. Green scored 8 runs off 14 balls and Head was out for a golden duck. Then Mitchell Marsh departed after making a 30-run partnership with Usman Khawaja. The hosts were in danger after losing five wickets for 54 runs.

Then, Usman Khawaja and Alex Carey made a big partnership for the sixth wicket. This pair scored 96 runs off 99 balls. Both scored half-centuries. Carey scored 65 runs off 49 balls. Australia lost their 6^th wicket for 150 runs when Carey got out.

Then Australia got a big pair on the 7th wicket as well. Khawaja and Pat Cummins contributed this time. They made a pair of 81 runs off 107 balls. Cummins made a pair of 41 runs with Lyon for the ninth wicket. Lyon stopped at 19 runs off 19 balls. Australia announced the innings after Lyon was out. Cummins remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 73 balls. 8 fours and a six came from his bat.

Australia announced the innings from 22 runs behind West Indies, 289 runs for 9 wickets. Alzarri Joseph took 4 wickets and Roach took 3 wickets for West Indies. West Indies took a 22-run lead in the first innings as the innings was declared.
