Photo: Courtesy[/caption] Afghanistan are now heading into split-captaincy era after sacking their most successful captain Asghar. Hashmatullah Shahidi will now be the new skipper in Tests and ODIs, while Rahmat Shah will be his deputy. Rashid Khan, world's one of top T20 bowlers, has been named as vice-captain in T20Is but a decision on captaincy will be taken later. "Afghanistan Cricket Board members approved the proposition to go ahead with split-captaincy for the national team, and thereby effectively removing Asghar Afghan as skipper," ACB said in a release. The ACB revealed that Asghar's decision-making in the first Test against Zimbabwe in Abu Dhabi which they lost by 10 wickets inside two days. The ACB ran an investigation as a follow-up. "The decision to remove Asghar Afghan from captaincy was taken based on an investigation conducted by ACB's Investigative committee which concluded that some of Afghan's decisions as the captain of the team resulted in Afghanistan's loss to Zimbabwe in the Test of the series between both sides in Abu Dhabi in March," ACB added. Afghanistan however won the second Test to level the series, with Asghar scoring a hundred and Shahidi becoming the first man his country to score a 200. After that, Afghanistan whitewashed Zimbabwe by 3-0. Afghanistan will play a historic one-off Test against Australia in Hobart in November this year. They have already made it to Super 12 of the T20 World Cup scheduled this October-November.
