The sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League came to a close, in what turned out to be the best climax in the history of the competition. The two best teams locked horns with each other in the high-voltage encounter, which gave the fans a spine-chilling experience through and through.

When CSK required 4 off the last ball, Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning runs in the form of a boundary off Mohit Sharma and guided the team to a surreal win. Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets (DLS Method) and won the fifth IPL title.

Chennai Super Kings received a whopping Rs 20 crore after winning the Indian Premier League title for a record-equalling fifth time. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans who finished the tournament as the runners-up received a cash prize of INR 13 crore.

Mumbai Indians were the first runners-up of this competition and they received INR 7 crore. On the other hand, Shubman Gill finished the tournament with 890 runs and deservedly won the Orange Cap. He received INR 15 lakh whereas Mohammed Shami received the Purple Cap for finishing the season with the most wickets (28 wickets).
