West Indies will tour Australia in January. Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the 15-member squad ahead of the two Test matches of the upcoming tour. Seven new faces have been included in the team. Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers aren’t in the squad. Alzarri Joseph has been made vice-captain.

The West Indies team that played against India at home earlier this year has seen a radical change in the squad for the tour of Australia. Jermaine Blackwood, Raymon Reifer, Rahkeem Cornwall, Shannon Gabriel, and Jomel Warrican have been dropped from the previous squad. The board also noted that Jayden Seales is out of consideration due to a shoulder injury.

Moreover, the team's big star Jason Holder, and regular performer Kyle Myers have withdrawn their names on their own. Holder and Meyers want to sign a T20 deal in January, says CWI.

All-rounder Kevin Sinclair, who was in the squad for the India series but did not play any matches, has also been included in the squad. Apart from that, batter Zachary McCaskie, wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach, allrounders Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge along with quick bowlers Akeem Jordan and Shamar Joseph have got a place in the team.

Gudakesh Moti, who played the last Test against South Africa last March, has also been brought back into the squad.

CWI chief selector Desmond Haynes said, "The squad has been affected by the unavailability of some key players. However, we have had a very strong red-ball program being run over the past year, which has unearthed significant talent throughout the region. The selected players have passed each test given to them and must now be given the opportunity to showcase their skills in the test arena. Australia away is always a challenge, but we are confident in our team."
