In the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been facing a series of disappointing performances. However, their star batter, Virat Kohli, has been consistently scoring runs this season. Virat Kohli currently leads the Orange Cap list and is set to take on the formidable Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who have been in exceptional form this season under the captaincy of Pat Cummins.
Virat Kohli and Pat Cummins had a pre-match meeting ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2024 clash between RCB and SRH.
As game-flag bearers for their countries and franchises, the couple showed mutual love and respect. Cummins warned Kohli about the batting heaven in Hyderabad in a subtle way.
The SRH team's official social media account posted a video of Kohli and Cummins batting in parallel in the nets.
While Kohli was resting after a strenuous training session, Cummins approached him, having been at the stadium for batting practice. Cummins shook the RCB batter's hand, saying, “I heard you saying I was making that wicket look flat,” seemingly referring to his own batting practice.
To this, Kohli laughed before complimenting the SRH skipper. “You are too good, Pat,” responded the RCB great.
In their previous match, 549 runs were scored, a T20 record. RCB conceded the massive score at Chinnaswamy Stadium but rallied to 262/7 in the run-chase.
The Royal Challengers struggle to balance an all-round performance despite their great efforts to compensate for bowling deficiencies. However, in their previous game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, RCB showed great batting energy but lost by one run in a 223-run chase.
