In a recent interview, Pakistan’s all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed has shared his thoughts on how the national cricket team can compete with cricketing giants like India, Australia, and England. The 34-year-old cricketer emphasised the need for a change in strategy, suggesting that adopting an attacking mindset could be the key to unlocking Pakistan’s potential on the world stage.
Iftikhar spoke openly during an appearance on a popular YouTube channel, where he highlighted the major difference between Pakistan and the top teams in world cricket. According to him, teams like Australia, England, and India consistently apply aggressive tactics in both batting and bowling, allowing them to dominate across all formats.
When asked what sets these world-class teams apart, Iftikhar didn’t hesitate to share his views. He remarked, "Australia, England and India, in my opinion, have a mindset of playing attacking cricket whether they are batting or bowling, which is why they are so dominant. In my opinion, the Pakistan team needs to adopt such attacking strategies in their play otherwise we will not be able to beat the bigger sides in world cricket."
Iftikhar strongly believes that Pakistan has the talent, but the team has struggled to perform at its best for nearly two years. Their inability to adopt a more aggressive approach, according to Iftikhar, is what has kept them from becoming a more competitive force in international cricket.
