Former English Team captain Joe Root entertained cricket fans with his amusing antics during Day 1 of the second Test match between Pakistan and England at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (October 15). In a moment that quickly went viral, Root was seen rubbing the red ball on teammate Jack Leach's bald head to shine it, a lighthearted moment that garnered attention from fans and broadcasters alike.

The video, shared by Sky Sports, showcased Root’s playful yet creative approach to maintaining the ball's polish. With the International Cricket Council (ICC) banning the use of saliva due to COVID-19 protocols, players have turned to sweat to shine the ball. Root’s unusual tactic of using Leach's gleaming scalp, however, added a humorous twist to the process.

This isn't the first time Root has attempted the stunt. During England's previous tour of Pakistan in 2022, the star batter employed the same method, further solidifying his reputation for on-field humor and creativity. As fans enjoyed the lighter moment, England continued to dominate in the three-Test series, leading 1-0 after an impressive victory in the first Test, also played in Multan.
