The IPL 2025 clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium had no shortage of drama and not just with the bat and ball. A tense exchange between veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma and DC’s rising star Ashutosh Sharma lit up the final overs of the first innings.

The moment unfolded on the final delivery of the 19th over when Ishant bowled a sharp bouncer that struck Ashutosh on the shoulder. Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler took the catch and the GT camp went up in appeal confident there was a glove or bat involved. However the umpire ruled it not out suggesting the ball had only hit the batter's body.
Clearly unhappy Ishant had a few words with Ashutosh even pointing a finger in his direction. Ashutosh didn’t hold back either rolling up his sleeves to show exactly where the ball struck him. The TV replays confirmed the ball had hit the shoulder not the bat ending the debate there.

Despite the heated moment Ashutosh made his mark with the bat. Walking in at No. 6, he played a crucial role in pushing DC’s total past 200 smashing 37 runs off just 19 balls which included 2 fours and 3 sixes.
In the end it was Jos Buttler's unbeaten 97 off 54 balls that stole the show. He led Gujarat Titans to a thrilling win as they chased down 204 runs with four balls to spare. While the game looked tight near the finish Rahul Tewatia made sure there were no last-minute hiccups scoring the winning runs in just three balls when 11 were needed off 7.
