In addition to his bowling heroics, Pakistan's star pacer Haris Rauf grabbed attention with his remarkable, albeit unintentional, fielding during Australia’s innings. Rauf pulled off a brilliant save at long-off, preventing what seemed like a certain boundary, which later went viral on social media.
On the second ball of the 12th over, Glenn Maxwell sent a length ball racing towards the boundary. Rauf, positioned at long-off, made a desperate dive to stop the ball. Although he didn’t initially stop it cleanly, Rauf used his leg to block the ball from crossing the boundary rope, saving two crucial runs for Pakistan. The TV umpire reviewed the effort, and Rauf’s acrobatic attempt was widely praised online.
Cricket.com.au highlighted the moment on X (formerly known as Twitter), captioning the post: "It really is Haris Rauf's series #AUSvPAK."
