After being asked to bat first by GAW skipper Imran Tahir, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons made a strong start. They were cruising at 61 for 1 by the end of the powerplay, with Fakhar Zaman and Kofi James forming a crucial partnership. However, left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie turned the tide for GAW, delivering a brilliant spell that pegged the Falcons back. Motie took three quick wickets in his first three overs, restricting the Falcons to 117 for 5 by the end of the 15th over.

Despite the setback, the Falcons managed to post a competitive total of 168, thanks to Fakhar Zaman’s 40 off 33 balls and Kofi James’ 37.

Chasing 169, Guyana Amazon Warriors found themselves needing 16 runs off the final over. Dwaine Pretorius faced Mohammad Amir, who was tasked with defending the total. Pretorius began with two consecutive boundaries off the second and third deliveries, putting pressure on Amir. A third boundary followed, along with a dot ball, bringing the equation down to four runs needed from the last ball.

In a dramatic final delivery, Amir attempted to bowl wide outside off-stump to keep the ball out of Pretorius’ hitting zone. However, the ball was full enough for Pretorius to get under it, and he connected perfectly, sending it soaring over the long-off fence for a six. His last-ball heroics sealed a thrilling win for the Warriors.
