Former Indian national cricket team player Virender Sehwag isn't holding back The former India opener has taken a sharp dig at overseas stars Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone slamming their poor form and questionable commitment in the IPL 2025 season.

Speaking on Cricbuzz Sehwag said he doesn't see any hunger or intent in the two power-hitters accusing them of treating the IPL like a holiday trip rather than a serious cricket tournament.

Sehwag didn’t mince words as he questioned the mindset of both Maxwell (Punjab Kings) and Livingstone (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) who were dropped from their respective playing XIs during matches on April 20.

“I think their hunger has been satiated. That’s why they come here to celebrate the holidays. They don’t feel like they have to win matches for the team or contribute to the trophy,” Sehwag said.

The 2007 T20 World Cup winner said he had shared dressing rooms with several overseas players who were genuinely invested in their team's success, unlike the current attitude shown by Maxwell and Livingstone.

“They just talk about winning but don’t perform. I have spent time with many overseas players who wanted to win the tournament. I don’t see that mindset in them,” he added.

Sehwag also shared a story about South African batter David Miller from his Punjab Kings days to highlight the difference in approach:

“David Miller used to get turning pitches prepared in Punjab nets. He used to practice with spinners so he could get used to Indian conditions. He was focused on improving himself.”

With both Maxwell and Livingstone struggling for form and now out of the playing XI their franchises will be hoping they find their rhythm fast before more critics pile on.
