United Arab Emirates (UAE) have named a 15-man squad on Monday (June 12) for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe.

The squad is led by Mohammad Waseem and includes veterans Asif Khan, Zahoor Khan, and Rohan Mustafa.

Asif made headlines in March after smashing a hundred off 41 balls against Nepal, which was the fourth-fastest hundred in ODI history. He also led the Qualifier Playoffs in run scoring with 296 runs at an average of 59.2.

During the aforementioned competition in Namibia, Zahoor was the most successful bowler for the UAE, taking 10 wickets at an average of 23.3. On the other hand, former captain Rohan Mustafa is UAE's most-capped player. He was dropped for the last T20 World Cup but this time, he has been picked for the all-important qualifiers.

This year, UAE participated in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Offs in Namibia and finished in second place. This result enabled them secure a berth in this month's CWC Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe. A successful tournament could allow UAE to participate in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

UAE will face Ireland, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Scotland in Group B of the Qualifier.
