Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been struggling with injury for a long time. Currently, he’s undergoing the rehabilitation process. It is assumed that he will be back again on the field with the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting on February 13.

Shaheen missed the last Asia Cup also. However, he played in T20 World Cup but got injured in the final against England. He left the field without completing his full bowling quota in the match. After that, the pacer could not play in the home series. The process of recovering from this long-term injury was quite difficult for Shaheen. Once he wanted to quit the game.

The 22-year-old cricketer recently spoke in a video of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He talked about the process of recovering from the injury there. “There were times when I wanted to give up. I was working on only one muscle and it was not improving. Often during the rehabilitation sessions, I used to say to myself ‘this is enough, I cannot do this anymore.

“But then I used to watch my bowling on YouTube and see how well I had done and that motivated me and I told myself ‘to push a little more’ … It is frustrating for a fast bowler to miss cricket because of an injury,” he said.

Pakistan were whitewashed by England in the home Test series. The Multan Test of that series was such that Shaheen wanted to go down to play. Regarding the Multan Test, Shaheen said, “It came when I was watching the [Multan Test] match and our tailenders were not able to finish the game. I wanted to hit a few sixes there and finish the match for Pakistan. Also, when they [England] were scoring a lot of runs, I wanted to give my input with the ball.”

The eighth season of PSL will be started on February 13. If everything goes well, Shaheen Shah Afridi will return to the field with PSL. Shaheen is scheduled to play in the PSL as the captain of Lahore Qalandars.
