Alzari Joseph was born on November 20, 1996 in Antigua, an island in Antigua and Barbuda. He comes from a middle-class family. He was born in Antigua and graduated from the University of Antigua.

Alzarri Shaheim Joseph (born 20 November 1996) is an Antiguan cricketer who plays in Tests and ODIs for the West Indies. He plays West Indian cricket for the Leeward Islands and the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. He is an all-rounder, fast right-arm bowler and right-handed hitter who was selected by the Mumbai Indians franchise to replace Adam Milne for the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Algorithm Joseph comes from a Christian family. His father, Alva Joseph, won at his club, Leward Cricket Club, where he coached and played cricket with experienced players and seniors.

Fire Sharon Joseph, his mother, was a soccer player for the Antigua State team and they supported and encouraged him to pursue cricket as a career.

Domestic Career

Joseph, a West India Under-19 player, made his first class debut for the Leewards during the 2014/15 regional four-day competition.

Against Guyana during the following season, he took a first-class five-wicket pull, 5/99, opening bowling with Gavin Tonge. In the following match against the Windward Islands, he took another five-wicket move, 7/46.

In December 2015, Joseph was called up to the West Indies squad for the 2016 U19 World Cup. At the tournament, he took 13 wickets from six matches to finish as his team's leading wicket-taker (and third overall). His best performance was 4/30 against Zimbabwe, where he was named man of the match.

In October 2019, he was named to the Leeward Islands roster for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament.

International Career

In July 2016, he was included in the West Indies Test squad for their series against India. He made his Test debut on August 9, 2016 in the third match of the series. On October 2, 2016, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the West Indies against Pakistan.

In October 2018, Cricket West Indies (CWI) awarded him an all-cricket format contract for the 2018–19 season.
He received praise when Joseph continued playing during the 2nd Test match against England in early 2019, despite the news after Matchday 2 that his mother had died.

In June 2020, Joseph was called up to the West Indies Test squad for their series against England. The test series was originally scheduled to begin in May 2020 but was postponed to July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joseph scored his first Test fifty on December 5, 2020, scoring 86 runs in the second innings of a big loss to New Zealand.

T20 Franchise Career

In March 2019, Jose was selected to replace Adam Milne in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians.

On April 6, 2019, he made his IPL debut against Sunrisers Hyderabad and took the numbers of 6/12, the best bowling numbers for a debutant, beating Andrew Tye's 5/17 in 2017. These were also the best bowling numbers in the IPL , breaking the 11-year-old record of Sohail Tanvir (6/14) and second best T20 bowling figures after Deepak Chahar (6/7). He also became just the second player, after Andrew Tye, to hit a five-wicket draw in his IPL debut.

In July 2019 he was selected to play for the Amsterdam Knights in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament. However, the following month the tournament was cancelled. He was released by the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2020 IPL auction.

In July 2020, he was named to the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots roster for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League. It was not sold at the 2021 IPL auction. In February 2022, he was bought by the Gujarat Titans at auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.
