Akeal Hosein is a West Indian cricketer who was born in Port of Spain in 1993. He's a left-arm spinner and has been racing at the native West Indies circuit since 2012-13. He was part of the West Indies squad at the 2012 World Under-19 Championship. After playing six games in that tournament, Hosein took five wickets and scored 82 runs.

Domestic and T20 Career
The following season, Hosein was man of the match in consecutive games, posting 6/33 and 5/34 against the Windward Islands and then scoring a first-class century, 102 not off, against the Leewards. He then signed with the Barbados Tridents for the 2014 Caribbean Premier League and has since appeared for the team at the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 and 2015 CPL tournaments.
In November 2019, he was named to the Trinidad and Tobago squad for the 2019–20 regional Super50 tournament.
In July 2020, he was named to the Trinbago Knight Riders roster for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League.
International Career
In December 2020, Hosein was called up to West India's One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Bangladesh. He made his ODI debut for the West Indies against Bangladesh on 20 January 2021. In February 2021 he was called up to West India's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Sri Lanka.
In May 2021, Akeal received a white ball center contract from the Cricket West Indies for the 2020–21 season. He was one of 10 players awarded a central white ball contract for the 2020–21 season. In June 2021 he was included in the West Indies Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against South Africa.
He made his T20I debut for the West Indies against South Africa on July 3, 2021. In July 2021 he was included in the West Indies squad to play the last two T20Is against Australia.
In September 2021, Hosein was named as one of four reserves in the West Indies squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In October 2021, Hosein was included in the West Indies 2021 ICC T20 World Cup squad, replacing Fabian Allen who was ruled out with an ankle injury.
