Taskin's Colombo Strikers beat Shoriful's Kandy Falcons in a thriller

Colombo Strikers beat Kandy Falcons by 2 runs on Saturday (6th July) in Dambulla. A sensational spell from Matheesha Pathirana, which was included 4 wicket-haul helped Strikers topple the Falcons by just 2 runs.
Being asked to bat first, Strikers had a tremendous start as Gurbaz and A Perera were scoring runs at a rocket pace before Shoriful Islam removed the former one. After the departure of the openers, Glenn Phillips stood tall among them and scored a swashbuckling 70 off only 43 deliveries at a strike rate of 162.79.
At the backend of the innings, Shadab Khan played a little cameo which helped the Strikers to post a massive 199 on the board.
Bangladeshi pacer Shoriful Islam picked up 2 wickets and gave away 43 runs. His victims were Rahmanullah Gurbaz and C Karunaratne.
In reply, Kandy Falcons were in course to chase this down as they needed just 47 runs off last 5 overs where they har 7 wickets in hands. But miraculously Colombo Strikers bounced back as Matheesha Pathirana showed them the way by picking up quick wickets and helped the Strikers beat Kandy Falcons.
Taskin Ahmed got 1 wickets to his name and leaked away 30 runs in his 4 over quota.
