Fortune Barishal have participated in two editions of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Shakib Al Hasan was the main player of the team both times. But Shakib has moved to Rangpur Riders before the 10th season of BPL. So the team has signed another superstar Tamim Iqbal.

Tamim made retirement from the T20 format in 2021. However, in events like BPL, his demand is always sky-high. But Fortune Barishal, however, did not wait that long and they included Tamim in the squad.

For now, Barishal have signed a one-year contract with Tamim. That is, for the 2024 season. After the national elections, this season will be held. In that case, the tournament will start after January 10.

BPL players’ draft is scheduled to be held in September. Before that, the teams are including the popular cricketers into the team in advance. In the continuation of this, Tamim wrote his name in Barishal.

The 34-year-old cricketer played for Khulna Tigers in the last edition of the BPL. He scored 302 runs in the tournament in 10 matches with an average of 33.55 where there were two half-centuries.
