India beat USA by 7 wickets to cruise their way through to Super-Eight on Wednesday (12th June) at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. A deadly spell from Arshdeep Singh, who ended up picking up 4 wickets reduced USA to 110 runs. In reply, Suryakumar Yadav scored a gritty fifty to steer his side to the victory line.

Arshdeep dismantled the top order of USA with his relentless tight line and length bowling with the new ball. USA were in sea infront of a quality Indian attack. NR Kumar top scored with his 27 off 23 balls, while Steven Taylor consumed 30 balls to score just 24 runs.

USA were given a reality check by India and they were bundled up for a meagre 110 runs. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers with his four-fer. Hardik Pandya chipped in away with 2 wickets to his name.

In reply, Sourabh Netravalkar removed both the Indian openers in a jiffy. Virat got a golden duck, while Rohit fell against run of play. Pant's magic couldn’t do wonders this time around and India were stuttering inside the powerplay.

Ans then Suryakumar Yadav joined hands with Shivam Dube and both the batters together combined a 72 run stand, which decimated the USA. The duo took their time to get settled and a penalty of 5 runs at the backend of Indian innings didn’t help the USA.

Suryakumar scored a fine fifty of 50* off 49 balls, while Dube finished on 31* off 35 balls.
With the win, India have qualified for the next round, Super-Eight. And they become the first team from the Group A and third team of this T20 World Cup to get into the next round.
