Rajasthan Royals batter Shimron Hetmyer breached IPL's code of conduct of level 1 offence during the Qualifier 2 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday (24th May).

Shimron Hetmyer smashed the wickets on his frustration for getting out cheaply to Abhishek Sharma in the crucial juncture of the match. And for this he breached level 1 offence of IPL's code of conduct. BCCI fined him 10% of his match fees.

"Shimron Hetmyer of the Rajasthan Royals has been fined 10 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 24," BCCI said.

"Hetmyer committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding," BCCI said.

In the match, SRH beat RR by 36 runs to reach to the finals of IPL 2024. Despite the gallantry knock from Dhruv Jurel Rajasthan Royals couldn’t cruise pass through the target given by SRH. SRH spin duo - Abhishek Sharma and Shahbaz Ahmed played huge role in the victory.

Now KKR will take on SRH on Sunday (26th May) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai for the Grand Final of IPL 2024.
