Yet another record goes to Shakib Al Hasan's name as the Bangladesh all-rounder reaches 4000 Test runs, taking the fewest matches (59) to complete all-round double of 4000 runs and 200 wickets in the format's history.
Since becoming the first Bangladesh bowler to claim 200 Test wickets during the Chattogram Test against West Indies in 2018, it has taken another five matches to breach 4000-run mark. At the time, he was the fastest to 3000 and 200 double.
Shakib made 33 in Bangladesh's mere 87 in their first innings of the second Test against Pakistan at Mirpur. Following on, he returned and completed his batting milestone with a boundary to become the third Bangladesh batter to make 4000 Test runs after Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim.
England great Ian Botham had reached his 4000th run in his 69th Test, making him the fastest to 4000 runs and 200 wickets double. New Zealand's Daniel Vettori and South Africa's Jacques Kallis took over 100 Tests to complete the double.

80 matches - Sir Gary Sobers (West Indies)

In the ICC Test all-rounder rankings, Shakib is placed fifth. He is playing only his third Test this year out of Bangladesh's seven. The 34-year-old missed the first Test against Pakistan in Chattogram after failing to recover from hamstring injury.
