Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has dropped from the top spot in the latest ICC T20 men’s all-rounder rankings to the fifth place.
In limited-overs cricket, Shakib dominated the all-rounder rankings for a considerable amount of time. But because he played selectively for a few days in the midst, he forfeited rating points. He has also recently been out of form. Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka has surpassed Shakib to claim second place before the World Cup. However, Shakib has already taken four steps down this time, not just one. In just four steps, one of Bangladesh's best all-around players fell from the top to the number five spot.
Shakib has been surpassed by Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga, Australia's Marcus Stoinis and even Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza who did not have the luck to play the World Cup. Afghan all-rounder Nabi is at the top with a rating of 231. Stoinis is ranked second with a rating of 225. Wanindu Hasaranga has a rating points of 216. Sikandar Raza’s rating point is 210, Shakib has 2 points less than that i.e. 208 rating points. That is, it is difficult for Shakib to turn around now. His points gap with Mohammad Nabi at the top is 23.
Shakib has been in real bad form in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. He has scored just 11 runs and taken 0 wicket in the two matches of Bangladesh till now.
