Former New Zealand all-rounder Stott Styris suggests Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) not to let Rajat Patidar to be in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction ahead of next year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).

RCB have made an impressive comeback in the IPL 2024. After a disappointing start of the tournament, losing seven of their first eight matches, RCB has bounced back with five consecutive wins. One of the standout contributors to RCB’s resurgence has been Rajat Patidar. With 320 runs at an impressive strike rate of 179.77, including five half-centuries, Patidar has been a pivotal player for the team.

"Rajat Patidar has come on leaps and bounds. We knew the talent he possessed anyway. But, if I were in charge of RCB and if I were allowed to keep four players," Styris told Jio Cinema.

"Rajat Patidar would be one of the four. Think of all the big names, arguably one of the bigger names around him. But, he would be one of the names I would retain. I will be like 'no, no, we are not even risking putting you back out in the open market. You are too good'. I think he will go from strength to strength every year," he added.

On Saturday (May 18), there will be a much exciting encounter that determines whether Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs. Although it is their last league game of the year, the outcome will determine their position in the playoffs.
