Indian National Cricket team player Sanju Samson has made history by becoming the first cricketer to score three T20I centuries in a single calendar year. In the fourth and final match of the T20I series against South Africa in Johannesburg, Samson reached his hundred in just 51 deliveries, marking his third ton in five matches. This remarkable achievement cements his place among the top T20I players in world cricket.
Samson’s first hundred of the series came in Durban during the series opener, where he smashed 107 runs. Despite a couple of low scores in the second and third matches, Samson bounced back strongly, ending the series on a high note. His consistent performances have placed him in an elite group, with only one other player, Phil Salt of England, having scored two hundreds in the same bilateral T20I series.
With his latest century, Samson now ranks third in the list of Indian players with the most T20I hundreds, surpassing KL Rahul. He now trails only Rohit Sharma (5 hundreds) and Suryakumar Yadav (4 hundreds) in this prestigious category.
