Bangladesh U-19 off-break bowler Sanjit Saha was reported during the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2016 in Bangladesh. He was banned by the International Cricket Council after having video footages of Sanjit's bowling action. The 18-year old is proved legal by a bowling action test taken by Bowling Action Review Committee (BARC) at BCB Academy. (নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুন) Sanjit Saha U19

Sanjit Saha was reported by the match officials after the opening match of ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup between Bangladesh and South Africa at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on January 27. He bowled 8 overs in the match and gave 30 runs without getting a wicket. He was brilliant in the West Indies U-19 series ahead of this event. ICC observed Sanjit's bowling action by video footages. Then on January 30, ICC sent Bangladesh Cricket Board an report through email stating that Sanjit is banned from bowling in U-19 cricket. In the report, it was said by the ICC that Sanjit's elbow bends upto 45 degrees. A bowler can bend his elbow only upto 15. Sanjit Saha was droppoed from the Bangladesh squad in the midstage of the tournament. Mosabbek Hossain Sun was announced as a replacement of him. Sanjit, who played for Brothers Union was among the 11 bowlers who were reported in Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League this year. The recent report by BARC which is formed by BCB says that he is permitted to bowl in domestic cricket. He scalped 7 wickets from 8 games for Brothers Union in DPL 2016. Sanjit played 19 Youth ODIs for Bangladesh and took 29 wickets from it. But he has to wait for a green signal by ICC. He needs to give a bowling action test to ICC and has to be proved legal.
