Pakistan have suffered a major blow as leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed was ruled out of the first Test against Australia due to an ankle injury, according to Cricket Pakistan. There are reports that Abrar Ahmed might also miss the second Test.

Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed is expected to miss the first Test match between Pakistan and Australia in Perth on December 14 due to a right leg injury.

The pain in Abrar's foot became evident during a four-day encounter against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra when he bowled a total of 27 overs. Pakistan cricket team doctors are currently treating him and his inclusion in the upcoming Test match will be decided based on his MRI report.

According to sources, his participation in the second Test is also questionable.

It was decided to send left-arm spinner Sajid Khan to Australia in place of Abrar. The selection committee, in consultation with the team management, unanimously decided on Sajid.

Once the travel documents are complete, Sajid will depart on the first available flight. Sajid is preferred as he has many left-arm batters in the Australian team and has effective left-arm spin bowling. He has taken 22 wickets in seven Tests so far.

Sajid played his last Test match against Australia in March last year. The first Test between Pakistan and Australia will be played in Perth from December 14.”
