Pakistan have named a new-look XI for the first encounter of upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. Pakistan will have a new opening pair in Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub. Also it will be Mohammad Rizwan's first assignment as a full-time skipper.

Babar Azam has regained his No. 3 spot, while Mohammad Rizwan will play at No. 4. Salman Ali Agha has been named as the Vice-captain of the team on the back of his excellent credentials in Test Cricket. Kamran Ghulam has been slotted in the middle order, along with Salman Ali Agha. Mohammad Hasnain has made a comeback to the ODI XI. 

Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead a pace-attack which compromises Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain.

Australia are coming off a fresh 3-2 ODI series victory against England, while Pakistan have not played 50-over cricket since last year’s Cricket World Cup in India.
