Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler to have picked up 200 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He reached to this feat against Mumbai Indians in Jaipur on Monday.
Yuzvendra Chahal has been in a tremendous form this season and a force for RR.
When Chahal caught and bowled Afghanistan’s veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, he became the first ever bowler in the history of IPL to pick up 200 wickets in this lucrative T20 league. Yuzvendra Chahal has played 153 matches in IPL for different franchises, he made his IPL debut against KKR in 2013 for Mumbai Indians. He started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians and then had given majority of his time for Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) and now he's playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) for last two seasons.
In his 153 matches, he picked up 200 wickets at an average of 21.39 and an economy rate of 7.71 with the best figure of 5/40. He is also a vital force for Indian Cricket Team as well. Chahal has been tremendous in this season of IPL, picked up 13 wickets at an average of just 17.46 and an economy rate of 8.41, joint highest wicket-taker of this season with pace ace Jasprit Bumrah.
