Royal Challengers Bengaluru were struggling not too long ago, as they were sunk in the last position of the points table in Tata IPL 2024. However, things have radically changed for RCB, as they are giving themselves the best possible chance to qualify for the playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru went on beat Delhi Capitals with a healthy margin of 47 runs, which keeps their playoff hopes well and truly alive.
After being put to bat first RCB posted a competitive total of 187/9 in their quota of 20 overs. Despite losing captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli relatively early, Rajat Patidar's yet another fifty powered them to a competitive total. There were valuable contribution from Will Jacks (41 of 29) and Cameron Green (32 of 24) along with Patidar's 52 of 32 deliveries.
Rasikh Salam and Khaleel Ahmed picked up 2 wickets each for the Delhi Capitals.
In pursuit of 188, Delhi were in heaps of trouble, as they lost 4 early wickets, including the dangerous duo of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel for only 30.
Shai Hope and the stand in captain Axar Patel led the fightback for the Capitals through a fifty stand. However, once Lockie Ferguson managed to dismiss Hope, Capitals came down crashing.
Despite a lone hand from stand in skipper Axar, it was nowhere close to be enough. Axar's 57 of 39 was not sufficient, as Delhi Capitals were bundled out for 140.
Yash Dayal picked up 3 wicket for RCB, while conceding only 20.
